Cynthia de Nevers Trutner is a partner in the Larkspur office of Bancroft & McAlister, representing and advising individual clients on all aspects of trusts and estate planning. In addition, she represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust and probate administrations.

Prior to joining Bancroft & McAlister, Cynthia spent eleven years practicing trusts and estate law at Trutner & Trutner, located in Oakland, California. She also spent four years at the San Francisco office of Pettit & Martin, specializing in real estate transactional work.

Cynthia received her BA in Political Economics of Industrial Societies from the University of California at Berkeley in 1982. After spending three years working in Washington D.C. in congressional offices, she returned to the San Francisco Bay Area and earned her J.D. from UC College of the Law San Francisco in 1989. She was a member of the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review.

Cynthia’s community work includes acting as a Director on the Corte Madera Community Foundation. Formerly she was a Director on the Marin County Estate Planning Council, and a past chair of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Marin County Bar Association. Cynthia also speaks to local community groups regarding wills, trusts and other estate planning tools.

Cynthia is a member of the Marin Estate Planning Council, the Marin County Bar Association, and the California State Bar.
